Types

What are expense types and what they imply

Types are the main way to categorize your expenses in Tracktrip. They are used to compute your budget and to display your expenses in the app.

Types

There are 5 types of expenses in Tracktrip:

  • Food: expenses related to food and drinks. This type is used to compute your food budget.
  • Transport: expenses related to transportation. This type is used to compute your transport budget.
  • Accommodation: expenses related to accommodation. This type is used to compute your accommodation budget.
  • Activity: expenses related to activities. This type is used to compute your activity budget.
  • Other: expenses that do not fit in the other types. This type is used to compute your other budget.

Budget computation

The budget computation is based on the type of the expense. For example, if you have a food expense of 10€, it will be added to your food budget. If you have a transport expense of 20€, it will be added to your transport budget, and so on.

Analytics

By clicking on the Analytics tab in the bottom bar of the app, you can see your expenses by type. This is useful to see where you spend the most money.

Click on a type to see the details of your expenses for this type as well as an historic. You can also access this view by clicking on a type on a transaction details.
